The Department of Information Technology was established in A.V. College, Vasai in 2007 for Science and Commerce stream. Information Technology aims to equip students the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become productive employees in the area of computer science and technology. Our college management has appointed well-qualified and experienced teachers to make students techno savvy.
To give practical knowledge for the students, our management has provided well advanced I.T. Lab with all latest software applications and hardware configuration. We also conduct H.S.C. IT Online Examination in our lab. Admission for I.T. subject is purely on the basis of merit.

- Mrs. Nikita Sachin Raut [M.Sc.(I.T.), B.Ed.] :
She is Head of the department working from the establishment of the I.T. subject in A.V. College. She is a fully qualified and well experienced teacher. She has a very good experience of conducting online examinations. She has attended the Teachers Training Program for Information Technology organized by MSBSHSE. She has participated in the International Conference organized by ICMP at Chennai. She has worked as Resource Person in ICT Training Program, in which she gave training to 9th and 10th standard teachers from Vasai taluka for ICT subject.
- Mr. Dhiraj Kantilal Rathod [M.Sc.(I.T.)] :
He is MSc, in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, He has been working as an Assistant Teacher of Information Technology in Vidyavardhini’s, Annasaheb Vartak Junior College, He has 12-year teaching Experience.
He always tries to help students to learn subject matter and skill Oriented Practical (SOP) that helps students to contribute to their development of learning the subject Information Technology. He guides the students in the learning process to achieve the curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all chapters, units, and communicates these objectives to students as per Maharashtra state board of Education. He always plans a program of study before every lecture, creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. He has attended The Information Technology Teacher ‘Training Programme’ organized by Dr. MSG Foundation Mumbai at Nashik.He has also attended the Maharashtra State Board’s Office Center Valuation camp at N.M.College , Juhu Vile-Parle-West, Mumbai 400056.
He always contributes to the successful growth of the Institute by using his skills, abilities and hard work.

Under the guidance of all faculty members and the facilities provided by the department, every year this subject has 100% result in H.S.C. board exam.
We have a very spacious AC Lab for information Technology subject.
Total 50 computers are interlinked with a power back up facility. During practicals we provide a print out for the student for their further reference. For better understanding, all Skill Oriented practicals are demonstrated with the help of projector. An Internet connection facility is also provided in the IT Lab.
